New WiFi at Exe Sailing Club is Plain Sailing

Exe Sailing Club is the principle sailing club on the River Exe in Devon, and has produced Olympic winners in the sport.  With a thriving membership spanning all ages and abilities, it is also an accredited RYA training centre and promotes sailing for all through their sailability, junior and cruiser racing programmes.

With an intermittent connection, limited coverage and constant complaints from members, staff and visitors, it was time for Exe Sailing Club to improve their WiFi solution.  They approached Grapevine to upgrade their existing WiFi to give members a better user experience, and make staff more efficient.

New access points were installed to allow roaming, along with the creation of both public and private SSIDs.  Grapevine installed a new security gateway, which enables both Exe Sailing Club and Grapevine Support Team to monitor the status of the internet connection, including latency, throughput, WAN and device activity on the network.  It also enables deep packet inspection for troubleshooting remotely, minimising downtime.

The WiFi upgrade project was delivered seamlessly, much to the delight of Honorable Secretary, Nick Pearce. “Our WiFi is working really well, and seems to be so much better than before.  Thankyou Grapevine!”
