Alphington Lodge

Struggling with a legacy phone system, with outdated hardware and slow systems, Alphington Lodge approached us about a new phone system setup for their premises.

This presented the perfect opportunity to utilise our latest wireless phone technologies and install a truly unique wireless system for the lodge. The goal was simply to eliminate unnecessary and outdated cabling infrastructure throughout the premises and replace it with wireless technology to improve coverage throughout the site and get reliable comm’s signal in the low coverage areas too.

Following the initial SIP setup and installing Base stations, we combined a few solutions:

• Leveraging the existing Cat5e cabling infrastructure we were able to provide WiFi access to the higher floors which then enabled the WiFi handsets we deployed for phone access.
• Dect repeaters were installed into available power outlets and allowed us to boost the WiFi coverage throughout the lodge without any cabling
• In the main area’s we deployed fixed handsets with Dect dongles to provide wireless connectivity.

In a nutshell, leveraging the existing broadband we were able to utilise WiFi technology to install a number of access points for handsets to connect to throughout the lodge and making use of repeaters and dongles where necessary to improve the wireless reach throughout the site for a reliable and seamless phone system.
